The loop of denial (Part 1)
Our defensive mechanisms include denial, which is one of the known self-reliant coping mechanisms, as it allows us to avoid physical and emotional pain, fear, and trauma. It is our survival mechanism for preventing harm and self-preservation.
My God is so BIG!
Sometimes we want to appear "holy" or humble, so we don't dare make God's size requests, or have small expectations, which may be disguised by lack of faith or fear of disappointment.
Four dimensions of love
God's love is evident in His provision, such as wonderful relationships, financial blessings, help and comfort during difficult times, or some mountain top experiences, which easily identify God's love.
Living into our values
Identifying our core values helps us understand what matters to us, so we can make choices aligned with them to live intentionally. Knowing our core values does not stop us from seeking God's guidance and discernment on a daily basis.
A “Kun” Heart
God directs (kun) our thoughts and plans that establish (Kun) His plans in our lives. Hence, a “Kun” heart means a prepared and firm heart.
Redeeming the borrowed life
y living with the "borrow" concept, we are aware that this life isn't really ours, but God's, as He is lending us our lives and everything to complete His divine mission.
Yielding to the Spirit
As written in the key verse, our motivation is to strive to accomplish God's purpose for our lives. We are called for a race, and we complete our own race like a disciplined athlete who will be rewarded with the imperishable crown.
Man’s responsibility
Esther showed how men's responsibilities integrate seamlessly with God's sovereignty. As a result of her decision to help the Jews, she proclaimed a three-day fast to pray for the spiritual battles and the upcoming physical battles.
Not so sure
When we get God involved in our lives, knowing that He is present and promises to be with us, He can bless our decisions like a dim sum sheet to choose various options.
The swamp of self-pity (Part 2)
It is men's responsibility to step out to receive God’s remedy to escape the swamp of self-pity. In order to overcome any sin, one must first repent and receive God's remedy, which is Christ's finished work on the cross.
The swamp of self-pity (Part 1)
Self-pity is highly addictive because it allows us to play the "poor me" card. I feel so sorry for myself. It is self-pity that says, “I am right because I have been wronged.”
The Kingdom reality
God designs our lives to be manifestations of His kingdom. Let us enjoy the benefits of the kingdom and exercise our kingly authority over our circumstances.
Integrity & Congruence
The concept of congruence refers to aligning our values with the truth consistently. Integrity means being honest with the truth.
A journey to the unknown
Abraham followed God without planning, not knowing where the destination was. He only knew that unknown place was where he would receive His promises and inheritance.
Opinions aren't judgements
Imagine a person as a thousand-piece puzzle. A puzzle represents the life and personality of a person.
Knowing our limits
We in the world are taught that we are limitless, as in the "have it all, be it all" mindset, which can lead to us exceeding some limit in life and disregarding our unmet needs.
The key to kindness
Henceforth, we need to exchange our heavy yokes for Jesus' yokes, which are easy and manageable.
Do not grumble
Grumbling is toxic. It is caused by sin and darkness. It is grumbling that infiltrates the distrust towards God, and if we don't address the heart issue, it will lead to bitterness and resentment.
Anxiety & Care
I note that some anxious people are caring people, and I have also observed that anxiety has a pattern of progressing that escalates into a downward spiral.
